Single and Three -Phase PWM AC/AC Converters as Semiconductor Transformers

Abstract

This paper deals with AC voltage transformation circuits, which contain pure or reactance PWM AC?AC converters. These circuits can be treated as AC/AC semiconductor transformers. In this paper review of single and 3-phase topologies are presented. The review covers both non-isolated and isolated topologies as well as single or two quadrant structure. Selected examples of applications are also presented
