Robust control of hybrid excited synchronous machine
Abstract
The electrical drive based on HESM is a good alternative to the induction drive due advantages related to energy efficiency. At the same time this type of drive is sensitive to coordinate and parametric disturbances which may affect energy efficiency and quality of control in various technological processes. This paper is devoted to development of control laws based on an idea of the reversibility of the Lyapunov direct method for the stability analysis, and using the instantaneous value of energy as the predetermined Lyapunov function. It ensures effective operation with a lesser sensitivity to variations of the motor’s parameters, as well as the simplicity of realization of control system at the extended motor speed control range due the flux weakening. Modelling of the proposed electrical drive confirms good control performance and the workability of the system.
