Approximation of Magnetizing Inductance Curve of Self-exited Induction Generator for Investigation of Steady-state Operation Modes

Abstract

This paper deals with the methods of approximation the magnetizing curve of induction machines on the example of self-excited induction generator. Manufacturers of induction generators do not give the information about the magnetizing curve of their machines, also using of idle mode test of induction machine cannot give us information about all the possible range of magnetizing current. However, induction generator operates on nonlinear descending part of magnetizing curve where the value of magnetizing current is high. Thus during the study of induction generator process of approximation of the magnetization curve is necessary to carry out in this way that will make it possible to reliably describe the zone of high currents, which are impossible to be obtained experimentally. In this article, different methods of approximation of magnetizing curve are compared and analyzed. Authors propose the method of approximation of magnetizing curve, which is suitable for induction generators and development of their control systems.
